A design company that brings you style, quality and a sustainable option, where every purchase cleans the environment and saves a tree.
Since our inception in 2016, when we began our plastic clean up in Arusha, followed by the launch of Dunia Designs iconic pouffe, we have recycled 900 tonnes of plastic waste to date. By purchasing our furniture, you play an active role in cleaning up the planet, supporting local initiatives while shopping sustainably!
Dunia Designs was inspired by the global plastic crisis and driven by a passion to make a change. When Evanna and Alexis Cronin first met they shared a deep concern over watching their community’s streets and rivers slowly filled with plastic, and they set out to address the challenge together;
‘How could one take this ever-increasing, indestructible waste and turn it into something beautiful with purpose?’
It was then that the first Dunia Designs iconic pouffe was born, stitched together with recycled fabric, and stuffed with shredded waste-plastic collected from the very streets they had watched fill with pollution.
The dream to one day clean not only their own environment, but also those around the globe, drove Evanna and Alexis to continue growing the venture and develop technologies that would allow them to do far more than simply stuff a pouffe.
The pair were soon joined by Elaine and Julia, to form a well balanced dream-team who together have brought Dunia Designs to a new level. Now offering a large range of home-furnishing collections, each Dunia piece is brought to life with attention to detail, a focus on design and style, and of course the aim to ensure real, tangible environmental impact.
